Parkour Obstacle Course at the Kyneton Show!

Parkour Obstacle Course

XtremeInc with ‘Walk The Walls’ are BACK at the 2017 Kyenton Agricultural Show on Saturday November 18th from 9am-4:30pm.

We are excited to bring our Parkour expertise back with an even better course this year, which will feature an advanced course and a beginner course for younger children.

Parkour is usually something you would see in an urban setting, however XtremeInc in partnership with Walk the Walls and the Kyneton Agricultural show, is bringing this urban form to rural young people.  This an opportunity for community members to learn new skills, engage with their peers and community. 'Country Parkour’ is inclusive and FREE for young people of all ages – from beginner to advanced levels.

Cat pass. Kong vault. Tic-tac. Wall run. Gap jump. These are just some of the signature physic moves of parkour. Now the global trend that originated in France is being adapted into a country parkour obstacle course.  Using recycled and agricultural materials including pallets, hay bails, tractor tyres, ropes, bars and vaults. This innovative course encourages active and physical participation for all ages, promoting healthy risk taking, all whist having fun doing so. Parkour is an exciting way to exercise and challenges participants; it improves body awareness, coordination and confidence. This is achieved by facing obstacles that push your body and mind. Parkour is all about moving through your environment efficiently and naturally, getting from A-B, inspiring the body to push the very limits of its capabilities. The success of this captivating sport was evident during the 2016 Kyneton Show. XtremeInc produced its first agricultural Parkour course that represented the theme of the show. Over the Saturday of the show, the course had approximately 800 people of all ages, including seniors, go through, with some participants going though repeated times. This attraction on it’s own brought hundreds people to the show and was a huge success.

Come and have a go on SATURDAY 18TH NOVEMBER 2017 at the Kyenton Show Grounds.

I am one of the youth impacted by 2TX. I know that what we have learnt in the last two years, combined with the training and experience gained in this event, will allow all of us to teach others. It will really change the youth in our area – for the better.
