SHARE YOUR STORIES THROUGH DANCE…XtremeInc Youth Projects Presents

‘THE COLLECTIVE’ Multicultural Youth Dance Project

We are excited to announce a new multicultural dance project for young people, The Collective.  The project will focus on bringing together young people ages 12-18 from diverse cultural backgrounds to share stories and form a showcase of dance works that will be performed at various festivals and venues throughout Victoria including the 2 The Xtreme Multicultural Youth Festival in Castlemaine.

The aim of The Collective is to create an important link with young people from Indigenous, non-Indigenous and migrant communities by providing a safe and creative space to express their cultural heritage and imagine it within the context of their current life experiences in regional Australia. Dance and music are an important part of most cultures and using these forms to capture the richness of individual stories will be a huge gift to the participants, their community and wider audiences.

XtremeInc is a not for profit organisation that I have been lucky enough to be apart of over the last 6 years. I have seen the work and effort Sarah has put in behind the scenes to create great events for the local community. Sarah has the gift of connecting people and spreading positivity throughout the community. Her bubbly friendly personality really brings an added warmth to the events and her skill and passion are evident. I hope to see many more XtremeInc event throughout the country. I have personally benefited from participating in Sarah’s dance competitions, made connections with others in the industry and been given opportunities to further enhance my own dancing career. Sharing passions and skill is something we all need more of and Sarah really leads by example.
